Town of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting

August 15, 2017

Meeting was called to order by Simon Nelson, Chairman, at 6:30 pm. Present: Supervisors: Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier; Phyllis Wilder, clerk; Brenda Tesch, treasurer, and Kevin Taylor, patrolman. Jason Pearson, Fahrner Asphalt Sealers; Terry Mattson, Scott Construction.

Open bids for chip sealing: Scott made the motion to accept Fahner’s bid for $89,161.81 for chip sealing, Glenn M, 2^nd, all in favor 3 ayes, opposed none. Carried. Work to be done this fall.

The minutes to the July meeting were presented by the clerk. No corrections or additions needed, minutes stand approved as presented.

The financial statement for July was presented by the treasurer. The board thanked her for the report.

Public input: None

Employee report:

· Received phone call about grader blades that can be ordered.

· Beaver’s back on 180^th

· Clam Falls Drive, culvert raised up recommend putting bump side up.

Unfinished Business:

A. Update on Salt/Sand Shed: Nothing new to report

B. Coverage while patrolman is gone: Will need to find someone to be able to grade gravel, Scott will cover with the help from Glenn and Simon.

New Business:

A. Resolution for road work: Glenn made the motion to create the resolution to move up to $100,000 from the general fund to the road construction account to cover chip sealing. Scott 2^nd, motion carried. Resolution will be ready for the September board meeting.

Correspondence: WTA correspondence on zoning issues; King’s request for culvert.

Motion made by Glenn M, seconded by Scott W, to approve the payment of bills check# 16847 thru 16857 and payroll and ACH payments totaling $73,576.13.

Next meeting will be September 19, 2017
