Input section were added from the printed agenda.
The minutes of the last meeting were
presented by the clerk. Adjustments were to include Joe Schommer
under Employee Report item A. for beaver bounties.
The
treasurer presented the monthly report.
The town board thanked the treasurer for the report.
Public Input: A. Mike Jahnke
presented his request for reducing the speed limit on Bloom Lake Drive. They
own the land long Bloom Lake Drive, which is about ¼ mile long. They are up on weekends (Fri-Mon). On Friday, early November, they were shocked
to arrive to their cabin with the vegetation removed. They were upset about the removal,
feel that the board should have notified the residents of the brush
removal. Now with the vegetation
removed, they fear that the persons traveling the road would feel more likely
to speed. There are only 3 persons with
driveways on the road, and they would like either have the speed reduce to 45
MPH, or the road closed off to non-residents.
The board explained that the tree trimming was well within their means
as a government entity. Curve signs are
marked. There is an equestrian sign. No
changes were made. The board received the Jahnke’s
input, and will take it under consideration in the future.
B. Nancy Thieret-
On Bloom Lake Drive. Also would’ve liked to have been notified of the
tree trimming. She believes there were
trees that should’ve stayed. The
maintenance crew left many branches in the road, and large areas of mulch, etc. She would like to see residents are notified
when such trimming is to take place. The
board received Thieret’s input, and will take it
under consideration in the future.
Old Business: A. ATV/UTV routes ordinance
preparation: The clerk presented the board with a revised copy of the
ordinance, making adjustments to the road limits within the Town of West
Sweden, and removing a twice stated item.
The clerk will submit the ordinance to Grindell
Law Offices, as the town’s attorney, for their final opinion of the
ordinance. The ordinance will be put up
for adoption at the next meeting, providing the opinion is back from Grindell. William
Johnson, representing the Village of Frederic, stated that the Village would
like to see Old County W
(140th St and 310th Ave) open to ATVs, but
the Town board declined that recommendation.
B. Jerry Laqua’s
request to be annexed into the Town of West Sweden was denied by the Village of
Frederic.
