Glenn Meier, supervisors; Phyllis Wilder, Treasurer and Kevin Taylor,
patrolman, and Andrea Lundquist, Clerk.
Residents and onlookers included Kenneth Ruhn,

The minutes
of the last meeting were presented by the clerk. No adjustments were
recommended. The town board thanked the clerk for the report.
The
treasurer presented the monthly report. The town board thanked the treasurer
for the report.
Public Input: A. William Johnson stated that Bruce Rowe had
mentioned to him interest in town roads opening for ATV use in West Sweden for
getting through the town to use ATV trails elsewhere. Walter Schommer stated
that Daniels Township to the North of West Sweden has town road designated for
ATV use to get through their town. Board
requested that a specific route be suggested and presented for ATV usage. ATV routes will be discussed again at the
next meeting.
B.
Walter Schommer again brought up concern for the
speed through the Diamond Lake area on 150th Street. The Schommers
present requested that the speed be reduced to 45MPH, as the center line that
was applied last appears to only have been a temporary solution, as people are
not taking heed to the suggested 25 MPH around those corners.
C. An environmental firm requested a copy of the
contract for the clearing of the right of way area on 350th Avenue
due to concern by residents. There was
no formal contract made, but a copy of the public meeting minutes where the
clearing was approved were sent to the firm.
No other contact has been made since sending the minutes.
D. Lori Lundquist contacted the clerk requesting
more reflective signs be place at the curves on 150th Street by
Diamond Lake, and gravel filled on the ditches on 150th Street by
Hwy 35.
Old Business: A. The Long arm mower purchase was
again discussed. McKenzie’s would give a
“trade in” price of $750 for our current mower, bringing the total price to
$41,800, of which $8495 would be for a second optional mower for the back. Glenn was a used New Holland mower for a 24’
long arm with a 5’ mower in Turtle Lake for $33,500. Discussion will continue at the May meeting.
Employee Report:
A. Grantsburg Tel and Siren Tel contacted the town regarding a culvert on 150th
Street that was cut back in 2004 when the telephone companies were laying new
lines. Grantsburg/Siren Tel would like
to fix the culvert. Glenn Meier made a
recommendation that the town will pay $200 of the repair, and the telephone
company to pay the rest. Simon Nelson
will contact Dana Olson at Grantsburg to discuss cost and when the repair can
be made.
Correspondence: A. William Johnson, the town’s
representative at the county, requested that the town change the date of our regular
board meeting to a different date, as it conflicts with the regular date of the
board meeting at the county. After
discussion, the town will continue with keeping the date of the regular town
meeting for the 3rd Tuesday of the month, but can be changed as necessary.
New Business: A. A Prevailing Wage Summary was
given to each board member as requested.
B. Road inspection date is set
for May 2nd beginning at 5pm and starting at the Bremer Bank parking
lot. They will also be checking for any
areas that may need clearing of the right-of-way.
All bills
paid and approved.

meeting will be Tuesday, May 22nd , 2012 at
7:00 pm. The Open Book and Board of
review date and time were set for May 22nd at 3:00-5:00pm for the
open book, and 5:00pm-7:00pm for the Board of Review.
