2011 Town Board Monthly Meeting:
Meeting called to order at 6:34 p.m. Present at
the meeting were Simon Nelson – Chairman, Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier-
Supervisor, Phyllis Wilder–Treasurer, Andrea Lundquist-Clerk, and Kevin Taylor
- Patrolman. Residents and onlookers
included Walter Schommer, Bill Schommer.
The meeting was called to
order by Simon.
The minutes of the last
meeting were presented by the clerk.
Adjustments to the minute
were under “Next Meeting” add: Road Inspections to be
held Monday, May 2nd at 5:00pm.
The town board thanked the
clerk for the report.
The treasurer’s monthly
report was presented by treasurer.

Public Input
– The Walter and Bill Schommer presented the official plat for their
subdivision for the town chair, clerk and treasurer to sign. The plat had been previously approved at the
March meeting, and it was understood that the official plat would be brought
here for final signatures once the county had approved. The chairman, clerk,
and treasurer signed appropriately.
Old Business
–
- Road Inspection Report was presented. (See Road Inspection Report, 2011 in
minutes)
- The LRIP remaining funds will be used for work
one of the areas needing attention from the road inspections. (See Road Inspection Report, 2011).
- The town has been discussing what to regarding
the 2009 assessment of Mary Young’s property, and continuing an extended
contract to recoup some of the loss associated with the situation (See
Minutes 3-10, Minutes 3-09). The
Town’s Association stated that it is not required for the assessor to
carry errors and omissions insurance. After weighing the cost of an
assessor with E&O ins, and one without, the
board reviewed the submission from Ed O’Meara, assessor, as to accepting a
3 year contract from Ed O’Meara at the current fixed annual rate, with a
deduction of half of the loss over the next three years ($1206.86
annually, totaling $3620.56). Glenn
made a motion to accept the 3 year proposal from Ed O’Meara, and Scott
seconded the motion. All in favor,
motion carried.
Patrolman/Hwy. Building/Hwy. Report –
A. Water pump went out on the dump truck. A new pump would cost around $1200.00. The board would like the dump truck to have a
full inspection and estimate for any work needed, and will allow Simon to make
any final decision on any work that is needed to be done.
- The patrolman removed the rusted parts of the culvert
on 140th and filled in with gavel; water still flows through. (See
Minutes 4-11). Per request from
DNR, no culvert has been added to replace the rusted culvert. The town
received $165.60 from Gone Green for the remains of the rusted culvert.

New Business
– A. A town checklist for property
owned by Mary Young was presented to the town board. The board approved and endorsed the
checklist, which will be forwarded onto the County.
All bills paid and approved. .
The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 21st,
2011 at 6:30pm, immediately after the adjournment of the Board of
Review.
