Public Budget Hearing

November 16, 2010

 

Meeting called to order by Dennis at 6:30pm.  Present at the meeting were Dennis O’Donnell- Chairman, Glenn Meier- Supervisor, Phyllis Wilder–Treasurer, Andrea Lundquist-Clerk, and Kevin Taylor – Patrolman, residents and onlookers included William Johnson.

 

Budget for 2011 was reviewed.  Motion made by Glenn Meier to adopt the 2011 budget for the Town of West Sweden.  Dennis Seconded.

 

Motion to adjourn the hearing made by Glenn and seconded by Dennis. Motion carried.

 

Hearing adjourned 6:33pm.

 

Special Town Meeting of Electors

 

Meeting called to order at 6:34pm.  Present at the meeting were Dennis O’Donnell- Chairman, Glenn Meier- Supervisor, Phyllis Wilder–Treasurer, Andrea Lundquist-Clerk, and Kevin Taylor – Patrolman, Residents and Onlookers included William Johnson. Scott Wilder was absent.

 

Glenn made motion to adopt the 2011 hwy expenditure, per the budget, and the town levy for 2010 payable in 2011 for $120,000.  Dennis Seconded.  All in favor 2-0.

 

Motion to adjourn the Special Town Meeting made by Glenn and seconded by Dennis.  Motion carried.

 

Meeting adjourned 6:37pm.

 

 

November 16, 2010 Town Board Monthly Meeting:

 

Meeting called to order at 6:38 p.m.   Present at the meeting were Dennis O’Donnell- Chairman, Glenn Meier- Supervisor, Phyllis Wilder–Treasurer, Andrea Lundquist-Clerk, and Kevin Taylor - Patrolman.  Residents and onlooker included and William Johnson. Scott Wilder was absent.

 

The meeting was called to order by Dennis.

 

The minutes of the last meeting were read by the clerk.

The minutes were amended to read “140 yards remaining of washed sand”. 

Minutes were received by town board.

 

The treasurer’s monthly report was presented by treasurer.

Report was received by town board.

 

Public Input – The County is looking into re-districting which could possibly reduce the number of county board members.  They are still looking into this.

 

Old Business- A. A digital camera was purchased for the town.

                      B. The town purchased 400 yards of washed sand for $7.90/yard.

 

Patrolman/Hwy. Building/Hwy. Report –  A. The town will not be getting a printer for the patrolmen at this time.  The town was not sure that there is a cost benefit for the printer versus getting copies made elsewhere.   

           

B.  Kevin checked into the topper for the pick up truck.  The town decided that it was more cost efficient to go with a roll top over the truck bed.  One has been purchased and installed

 

            C. The windshield on the dump truck was damaged when traveling on 360th on November 13th.  It appears that there was a wire that was across the road          by Larry Hackett’s property which had something hanging from it, most likely a glass/ceramic insulator.  This object then struck the windshield of the dump         truck, causing it to break.  A letter will be sent to Larry Hackett requesting the payment to fix the windshield.

 

            D. It was highly suggested that the air compressor in the dump truck needs to be replaced.  The cost would be about $800.  The board approved the            repair to be done on the dump truck.

All bills paid and approved.
