Town of West Sweden- Monthly Meeting

March 18, 2014

 

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm. Members present  were  Simon Nelson, Chairman;  Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier, supervisors; Brenda Tesch, treasurer, Kevin Taylor, patrolman; and Phyllis Wilder, clerk. 

 

The minutes to the February meeting were presented by the clerk.  The board thanked the clerk for the report.

 

The financial statement for February was presented by the treasurer. The board thanked her for the report.

 

Corrections to agenda: Add under new business West Sweden Cemetery

 

Public input:  None

 

Old Business: 

Glenn Meier reported that the new tractor has a two year/two thousand hours warranty.  There is a one year warranty on mower.  John Struck will provide us information on extending warranty for 3, 4 or 5 year.

Glass in cab of tractor is covered under insurance.

 

Employee report: Kevin reported that the dump truck is getting weak, will need work done on it soon, it is a 2000 truck with 6500 hours on it.  Have about 8 loads of salt sand left.    No new talk on salt shed with village. Inspection of salt shed done for this year.

 

Correspondence:  Pipeline safety training in Shell Lake April 1, 2014.

 

New Business: 

A.      Weight restrictions:  We won’t be pursing anything this year.

 

B.      Cemetery: Received request for the Town to take over more of the mowing bill at the West Sweden/Grace Lutheran Church cemetery.  Tabled for clarification.

 

All bills paid and approved.

 

The Annual meeting will be April 15, 2014 at 6:30p.m, with the regular meeting immediately following.

 

Motion to adjourn was made by Scott, seconded by   Glenn.    Motion carried.  Time was   7:10   pm.
