Town of West Sweden monthly minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

 

Present at the meeting were Dennis O’Donnell- Chairman, Scott Wilder and Glenn Meier- Supervisors, Phyllis Wilder – Treasurer and Lori Lundquist-Clerk.

 

The meeting was called to order by Dennis.

 

The minutes of the last meeting were read by the clerk. 

Motion to approve minutes by  Glenn, seconded by Scott. Carried.

 

The treasurer’s monthly report was presented by Phyllis.

Motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made by  Scott  and seconded by

Glenn .  Carried.

 

Public Input : Bill Johnson talked about a meeting he had been to a meeting at Madison.  He also distributed the new Polk County tourism.

 

Old Business  Discussed the resident’s complaint about his driveway, it was settled by the insurance company, and the claim was closed on March 6th

 

 Patrolman/Hwy. Building/Hwy. Report  dump truck has a leak that they are working on.  Ron will go to a training seminar next week at Balsam Lake, and we received the first ot the 2008 TRIP application forms.  Kevin will keep track of that process.

 

We received a letter from Jon Mattson and he is again requesting that we pass an ordinance that would appoint him as out building inspector.  After considering his proposal, we again decided to keep out status of having the state appoint our inspector.  Glenn made and Scott seconded the motion to keep the State as our building inspector.

Carried.

 

Discussion on putting out for bids brushcutting the roadways.  The board feels this is a good idea, and when they have their annual road inspection they will look at spots where we could bid this out for 2008.

 

New Business   Discussion on road postings, Dennis suggested that we do not post the roads this spring.  His feelings are that people need to make their livelihood driving on these roads.  Scott made and Dennis seconded the motion to not post the roads this spring.

 

All bills paid and approved.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 15  at 6:30 p.m.  This will be the Annual Town Meeting also.

 

Motion to adjourn the meeting made by   Scott  and seconded by  Glenn.                    .  Carried.
